Q + A

You have the same last name. Didn't you already get married?

Yes! We got married at the courthouse in January 2024, and we’re excited to celebrate with everyone this fall. The courthouse marriage was a legal formality, while our upcoming handfasting ceremony will carry spiritual significance for us. During this special event, we will also exchange rings to symbolize our commitment to one another.

Why didn't I receive an invite to the ceremony?

We chose to have a small and intimate ritual, inviting only our immediate family. The handfasting ceremony is just one part of our wedding celebration, and we can't wait to celebrate our marriage with all our friends and extended family on Saturday!

Can you explain the registry? It's confusing.

It’s simple: we already have everything we need, so please skip traditional gifts like pots and pans that couples typically receive for their wedding. In the next year, we plan to continue upgrading our home, purchase a new family car, and hopefully take our first trip together without the kids. You can contribute through our cash fund. We also understand that some people prefer to give physical gifts, so we’ve included a few fun items on our list. We would love new Yule decorations for the house (we’re big Snoopy fans!) and Lego sets for a future date night. We trust you know us well enough to choose something thoughtful. If you’d rather go the gift card route, we love REI!

What does a flexible and inclusive dress code entail?

We encourage you to come as you are! Whether you prefer to dress casually or opt for semiformal attire, it’s entirely up to you. We’d be thrilled to see you in your favorite geeky T-shirt, some vibrant tie-dye, or even medieval garb. The most important thing is that you feel comfortable and are ready to celebrate with us!

Your wedding sounds unlike anything I’ve ever experienced! What should I expect?

We want to celebrate our love in a unique and meaningful way that truly embodies us as a couple. To ensure everyone can join, we are making this a kid-friendly event. We have chosen to host it at Stone Manor, envisioning a relaxed atmosphere with food and drinks available throughout the day, allowing guests to come and go as they please. Please let us know your expected arrival time and how long you plan to stay to assist us in planning. We encourage family and those with little ones to join us from 2 PM to 7 PM, with the cake cutting scheduled for 6:15 PM. If you need to leave early, we’ll provide you with a cupcake to-go! After sunset, we will illuminate the patio for a glow party and have board games available inside. As you wish, we will also show a screening of The Princess Bride.

Wait a minute. I don't have to hire a babysitter?

Nope! As parents, we completely understand how challenging it can be to attend an event without your kids. Just let us know how many little ones will be joining and their ages, and we’ll have at least one childcare provider on-site from 2 PM to 6:30 PM to keep them entertained and ensure they have a fantastic time! Please let us know if they have any specific food preferences, and we’ll do our best to accommodate them. We’re likely going to order pizza!

I heard a majestic Persian cat rules over Stone Manor. How can I partake in the festivities without triggering my cat allergies?

As two people cursed with cat allergies, we've mastered the art of living in harmony with our delightful feline companion, Benji. Through regular hypoallergenic baths and the installation of HEPA filters throughout the manor, we've created an accessible space for all. During the wedding festivities, Benji will be cozy in his private lair, making special appearances throughout the day. In the event of an allergy flare-up, fear not—our trusty antihistamines are on standby, ready to deploy at a moment's notice.

Where is Stone Manor?

The address can be found in the original invitation that was sent to your email.

Which airport do you recommend I fly into?

The nearest airports are Baltimore/Washington International (BWI), Ronald Reagan Washington National (DCA), and Washington Dulles International (IAD). BWI is approximately 20 miles away, while DCA is a bit closer with convenient Metro access. IAD is about 38 miles away and also has Metro connections, offering another travel option. Your choice depends on whether you prefer to stay near Baltimore or DC.

How can I use public transportation to get there?

You can get to Stone Manor by taking the Metro to one of the following stations: Greenbelt Station (Green Line), College Park (Green Line), or New Carrollton (Orange Line). At Greenbelt Metro Station, exit the station and head towards Bus Bay E, where you can board either the Metrobus G12 or TheBus route 11, heading in the eastbound direction. Disembark at either Ora Glen Drive / Mandan Road or Ora Glen Drive / Morrison Drive, and then walk to your destination. At College Park Metro Station, exit and proceed to Bus Bay D to board TheBus route 16 towards Greenbelt. Stay on the bus until you reach Hanover Parkway / Ora Glen Drive, then get off and walk to your destination. For New Carrollton Metro Station, exit the station and head to Bus Bay K to board TheBus route 16, towards Greenbelt Metrorail Station. Remain on the bus until you reach Hanover Parkway / Ora Glen Drive, then walk to your destination.

Do you have a specific area set aside for parking?

There is ample free street parking. We recommend parking on Ora Glen Drive, Mandan Road, Mathew Street, Megan Lane, Craddock Road, or Greenbury Drive.
